William S. Frazier, 78, of Jersey Shore, passed away on Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at Jersey Shore Hospital. He was born in Madisonburg Aug. 29, 1931, a son of Charles and Ruth Stover Frazier. He was married Aug. 25, 1951, to the former Fae Brandt, who survives.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving with the 38th Infantry Tank Corps 2nd Division in Korea. Early in his life he worked at ARCO and was a truck driver for LaFace Express. He also was a partner with his brother, Marshall, in a coal business. He later was the owner of Shore Auto Parts retiring after 41 years.

He was a member of the Grace Evangelical Church and a member of the LaBelle Vallee Masonic Lodge #232 Jersey Shore and a member of the Williamsport Consistory. In 2006, he received his 50 year award as a 32 degree Mason. He was a retired member of the Jersey Shore Bank Board of Directors and a life member of both the Jersey Shore American Legion Post #36 and The Billy O. Brandt VFW Post #5859. He was an avid car enthusiast and a collector of classic cars. He also participated in The Great American Race in 1989, a 4,000 mile, 15 day classic car rally.

Besides his wife, Fae, he is survived by two sons, Danny and Randy (Debra) Frazier, of Jersey Shore; two daughters, Crystal Young (Scott), of Lansdale, and Melissa CorCoran (Martin), of Gilbertsville; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Tiffany, Scott, Waverly, Emma, Hayden, Will, and Riley; two sisters, Frances McMullen, of Pleasant Gap, and Betty Benner, of Centre Hall; one brother, Charles Frazier, of Millheim; and one half-sister, Kathryn Spade, of Centre Hall. He was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis, and a brother, Marshall, along with six half-brothers and three half-sisters.

Bill's Life Celebration will begin with a visitation on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, from 10 a.m. – noon, followed at noon with services at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, "a Life Celebration Home", 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Interment will be in Jersey Shore Cemetery where full military honors will be observed.
