Obituary of William Spearly, 94

John William Spearly, 94, of State College died Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.

Born November 7, 1924 in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Harry and Ethel Spearly. On July 20, 1948, in Bellefonte, he married the former Elsie Hoy who preceded him in death on March 20, 2002. William is survived by 2 children, a daughter, Linda Zubler and her husband, Dennis, of Hershey and a son, Scott Spearly and his wife, Lydia Snyder, of State College. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jason Zubler, Kiley Peters, and Zachary Spearly; four great grandchildren, Laurel Zubler, Anece Zubler, Kylynn Peters, and Anabelle Peters; and a nephew, Michael Wolford and his wife, Jeanne.

In addition to his wife, William was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Spearly in 1957.

William was a graduate of State College High School class of 1942 and was self-employed in the farming industry all of his life. William was a member of the Fillmore United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received at the Fillmore United Methodist Church, 2262 Buffalo Run Road, Bellefonte, PA 16823, on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

A Funeral will follow at the church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Calvin Miller officiating. Burial will be in Meyer Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the Greater Buffalo Run Valley United Methodist Church (GBRVUMC) building fund, 1667 Buffalo Run Road, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
