Patricia A. Yearick, 85, formerly of Hublersburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at the Salem Hill Haven Home in Spring Mills. Born on February 24, 1936, in State College, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Eva May (McClellan) Rockey, Sr. On July 29, 1953, in Snydertown, she married Harold C “Grunk” Yearick, Sr. Grunk passed away on September 21, 2014.
Patricia attended the Walker Township School. She was a homemaker. She was a past member of the Evangelical Church in Hublersburg. She enjoyed crocheting, paint by numbers, sewing, fishing, and camping. She loved to take care of stray animals, especially birds and never said no to a cold can of Mt. Dew.
Patricia is survived by her three sons: Harold C. Yearick and his wife, Vicki, of Boalsburg, Criss A. Yearick of Zion, and Gregory A. Yearick and his wife, Jami, of Snydertown. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Winter Marie Diggins (Randy), Josh M. Yearick (Jenn), Amber Lynn Yearick (Josh), Kelly Lynn Johnston (Ryan) and Jack Johnston (Marlee); eight grandchildren: Shiloh, Saige, Saylor, Grace, Abigail, Ryder, Kennedy, and Kinslee, and by one brother, Clovis E. Rockey of Zion.
Along with her parents and husband, Patricia was preceded in death by three sisters: Irene Yearick, Dot Yarnell, and Peggy Bowers; three brothers: Elmer Rockey, Jr, Sharon Rockey, and Larue Rockey.
Viewing will be on Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 2-4pm followed by a funeral service at 4pm at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home in Howard with Pastor Alan Eckenroad officiating. Burial will be private at the Zion cemetery. Face coverings will be worn for all services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Salem Hill Activity Fund, 424 Heckman Cemetery Road, Spring Mills, PA 16875.
Patricia’s family would like to give a special THANK YOU to the staff and Salem Hill and for the Hospice staff that took excellent care of their mother. All your tender kindness did not go unnoticed.
