Roxanna E. Phelps, 65, of Julian, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on April 7, 1959, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of Larry and the late Ellen (Whiteman) Burris. On May 25, 1986, she married her beloved husband, John Phelps, who survives at home after sharing 38 years of marriage together.
Roxanna worked for Woolrich in Howard, PA, for 19 years, until their closing. She then went to work as a clerk for Wal-Mart in State College for 28 years.
In addition to her husband, John, she is survived by her four children, Matt Auman (Nikki) of Bellefonte, Andrea Auman of Milesburg, Amanda Flick (Ross) of Howard, and Jesse Phelps (Amanda) of Julian, and six grandchildren: Aidan, Anthony, Garrett, Addison, Ruger, and Austin. Also surviving is a sister, Penny.
Along with her mother, she was predeceased by one brother, Dennis Burris.
Roxanna enjoyed cooking, and baking, and hosting her entire family for Sunday dinners. She loved the beach and looked forward to the family trips to Ocean City, Maryland. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family. Being “Nana” to her six grandchildren brought her the most joy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
