Sue Matalavage

On Friday, June 4, 2021, Sue Matalavage passed from our world after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She had been surrounded by her family in her last weeks which brought her great joy. Sue is survived by her husband of 33 years, Tom, daughters Abigail and Elizabeth, son Jon Thomas, his wife Amanda and their two sons “Jack” and Louis.

Sue was passionate about her family, work, running, skiing, biking and riding motorcycles, usually to get ice cream. Doing these things with family and friends made her happy and gave her life purpose. She used to like to say that “In the end when they tally up the score nobody ever got points for a clean house.”

Along with her work at Tussey Mountain Ski Area, she also spent several years as Executive Director of Centre Soccer where she made many friends who helped her along the way.

She will be missed.

Arrangements are being handled by the Koch Funeral Home. There will be no calling hours or service per her request. Instead, donations in her name can be made to the P.S.O.C. Ski Patrol at Tussey Mountain. Checks should be made out to PSOC Ski Patrol and mailed to Mike Bender, 527 Powderhouse Lane, Mifflinburg PA 17844.
