Violet J. Confer of Mill Hall, passed from this life March 25, 2020 at her home. She was 89. Born April 4, 1930 in Coburn, Violet was a daughter of the late Clayton E. and Ellen (Auman) Confer. She was a graduated of East Penns Valley High School. She then went on to attend Harford Community College.
Violet served our country in the U. S. Army for 8 years. Upon discharge from the military she was employed in the Human Engineering Lab at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. Violet dedicated 33 years of her life to the United States Military. While in Maryland she coached softball at Aberdeen. She was a member of the Lock Haven American Legion Post 131. Violet loved her German Shepard dogs, having owned several throughout her lifetime.
Violet is survived by one sister in law and numerous nieces and nephews. She is the last of her family having been preceded by siblings, Orvis Confer, Paul Confer, Francis “Doodle” Confer, Polly Stover, Marian Crider and Lena Tremmel.
Violet will be laid to rest in the Sprucetown Cemetery during a public graveside service at 11:00 am on Friday, March 27, 2020. The cemetery is located on Upper Georges Valley Road, Spring Mills.
