Wendy Lou Dobson

Wendy Lou Dobson, 43, of Pleasant Gap, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021, surrounded by her family at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born on May 3, 1977, in State College, she was the daughter of the late Ambrose E. Dobson, Jr., and Ruth (Bartley) Dobson, who survives at home. 

Wendy was a 1996 graduate of State College Area High School.

Along with her mother, Ruth, she is survived by her two sons, Bruce Stitzer, Jr., and Christian Stitzer. Also surviving are her two sisters, Debbie Sue Elder (Eric Cummins), and Amy Bennett (Brian), all of Bellefonte, and her nieces, nephews, and great nieces. 

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one son, Austin L. Stitzer, on September 20, 2011. 

Wendy enjoyed crafting, painting, and cooking – especially baking. She loved life and always saw the bright side of everything – whether she was helping someone else out in their time of need or simply watching the birds and squirrels in her backyard (she even had names for them!). She was a huge supporter of THON. Every year she looked forward to being able to attend the Grange Fair. Wendy also enjoyed spending time with her special group of friends. 

Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
