Bill proudly served our country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.  He was employed as a Fish Culturist at the Pa Fish Commission facility in Pleasant Gap, retiring in 2008 with 25 years of service.  Bill was a member of the Fellowship Bible Church where he loved singing gospel songs, as well as with the Covalt family at their concerts.  He was a member of the Nittany Antique Machinery Association where he enjoyed showing several of his favorite Farmall tractors and participated in the tractor pulls at the yearly show at Penns Cave.  Bill was a member of the American Legion Smith-Pletcher Post #779 at Centre Hall.  He also drove the Amish in the local community, enjoyed bowling, playing cards and putting together puzzles.  As busy as he stayed, if you couldn’t find him though……just go to the “Big Red Shed” where he would most likely be taking a nap.  In recent years you could find Bill in the “Yellow Banana” delivering mulch to various destinations in the valley.  He will truly be missed by his family and many friends.
