William “Bill” Elmer Confer

 William Elmer “Bill” Confer, 67, of Monument, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021, at Haven Place in Lock Haven. Born on November 13, 1953, at Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Elmer and Lois (Bechdel) Confer of Monument. Bill graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1972. After graduation, he enlisted with the United States Marine Corp and served for 2 years, which included time spent in Vietnam. After his service, he worked for Pandrol Jackson for many years and then drove truck for several years. Prior to his stroke, he was employed with Lock Haven Distribution. Bill was an avid hunter and had an adventurous side that some may even call crazy. No matter what he did, he enjoyed life. He was a loving and caring brother and uncle and will be missed by many. Bill is survived by one brother, Donald (Bonnie) Confer of Monument; two sisters, Susan (Paul) Vinup also of Monument and Emma Confer (Woody Lowe) of Elkhart, IN; four nieces; three nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. Friends and neighbors will be received from 1pm – 2pm on Friday, July 9, 2021, at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home in Howard. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2pm with Rev. Alan Eckenroad officiating. He will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Liberty Baptist Cemetery in Blanchard, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Haven Place, 24 Cree Drive, Lock Haven, PA 17745.
