William R. “Bill” Eyer, 66, of Centre Hall, peacefully passed away at home on Friday, December 30, 2022. Born on May 19, 1956, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Ivan Sinickson Eyer and Ester (Confer) Jackson.
Bill graduated from Penns Valley High School in 1974. After graduation, he worked for Centre Engineering until they closed their doors and then began working as a Customer Service Specialist at Big Lots. He retired after more than 20 years of service with Big Lots.
Bill was a character and definitely a unique individual. He was a jokester and if he picked on you, you knew he loved you. He was a member of the Bald Eagle Sportsman’s Club in Mt. Eagle and loved going to Scotia for target shooting. In his day, he enjoyed fishing, especially ice fishing and riding around on his 3-wheeler. He liked to attend car shows and would try to go to every gun show he could find. He was a big fan of Penn State and an even bigger fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was an amazing man, full of love, generosity, and jokes. He was a great dad and an even better pappy. He loved spoiling his grandchildren every chance he got. He was kind, easy to get along with, helper of anyone that needed it, and had a loving heart. He will be missed by so many that knew and loved him.
Bill is survived by his 4 children, Raven M. Crader of Centre Hall, Gabriel S. Eyer of Burnham, Eric T. Crader of Waynesburg, and Thomas Boozer of Centre Hall; his sister, Brenda “Sis” Young of Philipsburg, and six grandchildren, Maleah Crader, Latoya Crader, Xavier Crader, Zander Crader, Harper McCall, and Xander Ross-Boozer.
Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother in-law, Clarence Young.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 11am – 12 noon, at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Centre Hall. A celebration of life will immediately follow at noon with Evelyn Wald officiating. Bill will be laid to rest privately at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Spring Mills.
