Online Auction Celebrates Mid-State Literacy Council’s 50th Anniversary

Mid-State Literacy Council is holding an online auction to celebrate the organization’s 50 years of educating adults in Centre and Clearfield counties.

The auction is underway now at go.rallyup.com/literacyforlife and ends at 8 p.m. on Sunday.

More than 270 items are up for bid, including gift cards, jewelry, decorative items, sports equipment, kitchen wares and much more. Money raised will go directly to MSLC’s programs to help adults learn essential skills and ensure no community members lack literacy.

“MSLC prides itself on providing literacy for life by teaching adults life-saving skills,” a news release from the organization stated. “Learning to read better leads to employment and access to healthcare. Learning English and computer skills creates a life-time of connections and community participation. Grandparents raising grandchildren are learning computer skills to access schools, healthcare, and supportive resources.”
