Penn State has the nation’s second most active and most useful alumni network, according to a Business Insider Top 25 list.

Business Insider combined the results from The Princeton Review’s “Best Alumni Network” with salary data from PayScale to show how much recent graduates from schools on the list can expect to make. According to the list, Penn State graduates are expected to have a median starting salary of $51,000.

Business Insider noted that Penn State’s career services are part of what helps grads move forward with their careers. One Penn State student told The Princeton Review that one of the best things about Penn State is its huge alumni network. “Because of this, PSU alums seek out Penn State grads for jobs at their companies,” the student said.

Penn State beat out colleges like Stanford, Ohio State, Lehigh, Virginia, and Cornell to become No. 2 on the list. Penn State’s median starting salary is higher than 15 of the 25 schools listed; it’s important that a median salary is being considered rather than the average because notable alumni like Mark Parker and Terry Pegula won’t skew the data.

Last summer, College Magazine listed Penn State’s alumni network as the nation’s best and President Eric Barron told alumni, “Thank you for all you do.” It’s no secret that Penn State has a powerful alumni network, and now yet another ranking is available to prove it.
