Penn State Football Lands Top Target in Dennis-Sutton

Penn State landed another high-profile on the recruiting trail Thursday evening as defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton verbally committed to the Nittany Lions. The Maryland product is rated the No. 50 overall prospect in the nation, according to the 247 Network’s composite rankings.

Dennis-Sutton choose Penn State over a host of schools with Georgia and Alabama joining Penn State in the final three.

The 247 Network lists Dennis-Sutton as a four-star prospect while the Rivals network has him rated a five-star talent and the No. 11 rated prospect in the 2022 class, which makes him the top player in Maryland and the nation’s top defensive end prospect. The 247 Network rates Dennis-Sutton the second-best prospect in Maryland behind linebacker Jaishawn Barham.

In either case, the commitment is the latest in a long line of talent and high-profile commitments to Penn State during the 2022 cycle. Dennis-Sutton joins standout running back Nicholas Singleton and rising receiver Kaden Saunders as the two other Top 100 prospects verbally committed to James Franklin and his staff.

As usual, verbal commitments are not binding until a player signs his National Letter of Intent. The earliest a prospect can do that is December 15th during the early signing period.

Dennis-Sutton is the fifth defensive line prospect to commit to Penn State’s 2022 class joining Tyreese Fearbry, Ken Talley, Zane Durant and Kaleb Artis. Both Fearbry and Talley are listed at defensive end.

Overall Penn State’s 2022 class is now 21 players deep.
