Penn State Football: Lasch Building Weight Room Expansion Rounds Into Final Stage

no description

The Penn State football Lasch Building weight room expansion is closer to being finished as the Nittany Lions sit inside of a month before their season opener on the road against Purdue on Sept. 1.

The expansion, which has been ongoing for the better part of the past year, is the latest of a multi-stage plan to renovate various aspects of Penn State football’s headquarters. While the weight room expansion has been underway, the football program – among others – have been using a makeshift weight room facility setup across the parking lot at Holuba Hall.

The project boasts an approved budget of $48 million – is the most noticeable change to the Lasch Building in recent years and the first of a two phase project that will feature internal and external upgrades throughout the building. The second phase of the project recently went out to bid among contractors.

A Penn State spokesperson said the weight room expansion is believed to be completed prior to the start of the season, and as recent photos taken earlier this week show – the project is certainly much closer to completion.
