Penn State Football: Nittany Lions Add Lineman to 2023 Class

Three-star offensive lineman prospect Anthony Donkoh committed to Penn State’s Class of 2023 Friday afternoon.

Donkoh selected the Nittany Lions over Duke, Virginia Tech and West Virginia, among other schools.

“My love for football is boundless,” Donkoh wrote in a statement. “No amount of adversity will deter me from fulfilling my destiny.”

In addition to playing offensive line, the 6-foot-5, 310-pound Donkoh also slotted in at defensive end for his Lightridge High School team in Aldie, Virginia. The lineman is his school’s first Division I college football prospect since it opened in 2020.

Donkoh is the seventh Class of 2023 prospect to commit to Penn State. He is set to join a class that already boasts three-star interior lineman Joshua Miller and five-star interior lineman Alex Birchmeier, the nation’s highest-ranked recruit at the position.

He is the No. 10-ranked 2023 recruit coming out of Virginia and the No. 31 interior offensive lineman prospect in the country. He is already Penn State’s fourth Class of 2023 recruit from Virginia in this cycle — a clear testament to head coach James Franklin’s prolific DMV recruiting pipeline.

With Donkoh’s commitment, Penn State now boasts the nation’s No. 4 2023 recruiting class. Although it’s early, the Nittany Lions sit atop the Big Ten rankings, too.
