Penn State Football: Nittany Lions Favored Against Michigan, Auburn According to Early Lines

Penn State football might still be a few months away but that doesn’t mean fans and forward-thinking sports betters can’t get an idea of which matchup the Nittany Lions might be favored in this season.

BetOnline.com announced on Wednesday afternoon a handful of game lines for Penn State’s upcoming season including the opener on the road against Wisconsin.

The Nittany Lions will start off the season four-point underdog against the Badgers according to the site but will be a touchdown favorite against Auburn in Week 3 as well as 10.5 point underdog in Columbus at Ohio State. The Nittany Lions will open as an eight-point favorite against Michigan as well when the Wolverines head to State College.

  • Penn State/Wisconsin (-4)
  • Auburn/Penn State (-7)
  • Penn State/Ohio State (-10.5)
  • Michigan/Penn State (-8)

Despite an up and down season in 2020 that began with Penn State starting out the year 0-5, the Nittany Lions finished not only 4-0 on the field but 4-0 against the spread in the final weeks of the season. VegasInsider currently has Penn State favored to win nine or fewer games this year but the second best odds behind Ohio State to win the Big Ten Title.

In addition to those four games Penn State will have noteworthy meetings against Ball State, a road trip to Iowa as well as rematch meeting in State College against Indiana following an overtime loss to the Hoosiers during 2020’s season opener.
