Penn State football added a third verbal commitment in as many days as three-star corner and Louisiana native Jordan Allen made his college decision on Saturday afternoon.
Allen, who attends Lafayette Christian Academy, hits the scales at 6-feet tall, 182 pounds and is rated the No. 34 best corner in the 2022 class by the 247 Network. He chose the Nittany Lions over Miami and Louisville, among other schools in his final six.
The verbal commitment gives Penn State an even 20 in its 2022 class and an eighth commitment in the month of July as James Franklin and his staff have been white-hot on the recruiting trail over the past 17 days.
Penn State’s 2022 haul is currently rated No. 2 in the nation and the second-best in the Big Ten just behind Ohio State. The Nittany Lions added four-star running back Kaytron Allen on Friday while four-star interior offensive lineman Alex Birchmeier gave Penn State its first 2023 commitment on Thursday.
It’s unclear how deep Penn State’s 2022 class will go, but the Nittany Lions continue to surge ahead in a busy July with a handful of commitments still on the horizon as the program sets its sights on the start of camp at the beginning of August.
Four-star defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton is set to announce his college decision on July 22. The Maryland native is expected to verbally commit to Penn State, according to the 247 Network.
