PennDOT Restores Speed Limits on I-80, I-99 in Centre County

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has restored speed limits on two interstates through Centre County after temporarily reducing them on Thursday night and Friday morning because of winter weather.

Speed limits were reduced from about 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. to 45 miles per hour on Interstate 80 from Clarion to the west through Clinton County to the east and on Interstate 99 in Centre County.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory through 4 a.m. Friday for portions of central Pennsylvania including southern Centre County, which saw snowfall totals ranging from 1 to 3 inches .

State College, Bald Eagle, Bellefonte, Penns Valley and Philipsburg-Osceola school districts operated on two-hour delays on Friday morning.
