After postponing a tour scheduled for last year because of COVID-19, The Killers will at last perform at the Bryce Jordan Center in 2022.
The Las Vegas-based rockers will visit the Penn State arena on Oct. 4, 2022 as part of their North American tour. They’ll be joined by special guest Johnny Marr, the guitarist and singer-songwriter who was a founding member of The Smiths and has gone on to acclaim for his solo work and performing with numerous other bands.
The show is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start.
Tickets range from $24.25 to $94.25 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday through Ticketmaster. A Penn State student presale for discounted tickets will take place on Thursday.
Known for their many hits such as “Mr. Brightside,” “Somebody Told Me,” and “When You Were Young,” The Killers originally were slated to perform at the BJC in October 2020 in support of their sixth studio album, “Imploding the Mirage,” released last August
The band announced on Monday its newest album, “Pressure Machine,” will be released on Aug. 13.
With no performances in 2020 because of the pandemic, the BJC has announced six ticketed events so far for 2021-22.
Comedian Bill Burr will visit on Sept. 10; Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live will make a stop on Oct. 16-17; country artist Kane Brown performs on Nov. 6; Cirque Dreams Holidaze brings a Broadway-style musical and contemporary circus arts on Dec. 16; and singer-songwriter Billie Eilish takes the stage on Feb. 10, 2022.
