A bleacher motor in the school’s North Building gymnasium began sparking and smoking at around 3 p.m., according to a news release from the school district. Administrators evacuated approximately 150 students in attendance at the basketball game.

The newly-initiated Student Licensing Fee will need to be paid by all owners of properties designated as student homes. “When the ordinance was drafted, we took into consideration that existing homes wouldn’t have to pay the fee,” planning director Ed LeClear says.
