STATE COLLEGE — Bright Star Touring Theatre, a national professional touring theatre company based in Asheville, N.C., is visiting Schlow Centre Region Library on July 30 with its performance of “Jack’s Adventure in Space.” The free show begins at 2:30 p.m. in Schlow’s Downsbrough Community Room, according to a press release.
“Jack’s Adventure in Space” debuted this spring and is the fast-paced tale of Jack, a young student who, almost accidentally, journeys through the solar system. Along the way he meets each of the planets and learns interesting facts about each.
Casting director Emily Hubbard notes, “We travel with everything we need and can perform just about anywhere. Our actors join us from all over the country and they sometimes visit 10 different cities each week, playing a wide variety of characters. It’s a great way for them to flex their acting muscles.”
The company performs regularly at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C., and has gained international attention, having visited Russia and Germany with its productions.
