UNIVERSITY PARK —From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at Eisenhower Auditorium, Penn State students can save an additional 15 percent on already-discounted tickets for Center for the Performing Arts’ performances. A grant from the University Park Student Fee Board makes the discount possible.
Performances will take place September through April in Eisenhower and Schwab auditoriums. Student tickets normally priced at $15 will cost $12.75 on the sale day, touring Broadway production tickets will cost $42.50 and $34.85, and admission to a concert featuring cellist Yo-Yo Ma and pianist Kathryn Stott will cost $61.20 and $52.70.
The 2017-2018 season features 24 presentations, including Montreal-style cirque, jazz, musical theater, world music, dance troupes and classical ensembles.
“We enthusiastically welcome Penn State students to the center’s performances and are excited that, on average, one-third of our audiences are students,” said center director George Trudeau. “We’re pleased to be able to provide students tickets for most presentations for the very reasonable price of $15. Broadway show ticket prices are negotiated with the producers, so we don’t have as much flexibility, but we are still pleased that Penn State students receive the best prices for Broadway and all CPA presentations.”
A valid Penn State identification card is required to purchase tickets at the University Park student price. Each eligible student may buy one discounted ticket per event per ID. Those who wish to sit together should purchase their tickets at the same time.
