Penn State women’s soccer midfielder Marissa Sheva kept her strong start to the season rolling Friday with another two-goal performance, pacing the Nittany Lions in a 4-2 win over Arkansas in Fayetteville.

Simone Lee and Heidi Thelen led No. 6 Penn State to a stress-free sweep of Tennessee-Martin (25-13, 25-13, 25-8) to open the West Virginia Tournament.

Sophomore Laura Freigang is as good a candidate as anyone to be the breakout player this season for Penn State women’s soccer. Her innate ability to create looks in the open field merits far more attention from the rest of the Big Ten.
