Dollar General has opened its newest Centre County location.
The company’s store at 586 E. College Ave., Bellefonte, opened on Monday, according to a news release.
“At Dollar General, we believe the addition of each new store provides positive economic growth for the communities we proudly serve, and the addition of our new Bellefonte store highlights our commitment to deliver a pleasant shopping experience that includes great prices on quality products in a convenient location, ” Matthew Simonsen, Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development, said in a statement.
Open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, the store will carry food and household essentials such as cleaning supplies, paper products, over-the-counter medicine, hygiene products and baby items, as well as the company’s new home décor and an expanded party preparation selection.
The store will employ six to 10 people, depending on need.
It is the eighth Dollar General store in Centre County and fourth in the Bellefonte ZIP code, joining those at 206 Cobblestone Road near Zion, 141 S. Spring St. in downtown Bellefonte and 517 Dell Street in Milesburg. Elsewhere in the county, Dollar General has locations in Aaronsburg (364 West Aaron Square), Centre Hall (421 S. Pennsylvania Ave.), Snow Shoe (644 E. Sycamore Rd.) and State College (3283 W. College Ave.).
