Marzoni’s Brick Oven & Brewing Co. is ready to open its first State College area restaurant.
The Altoona-based restaurant and brewery’s newest location will open at 11 a.m. on Thursday at 1215 N. Atherton St. in the former TGI Friday’s building, according to a post Tuesday on the company’s Facebook page.
With a motto of “good food, good beer and good times,” Marzoni’s specializes in brick-oven pizzas, along with pastas, steaks, seafood dishes, sandwiches, salads and more. Each location serves Marzoni’s seven signature beers brewed at the company’s Blair County brewery, as well as seasonal and guest drafts and wine and mixed drinks.
Marzoni’s announced plans for its fifth central Pennsylvania restaurant in December and has spent months renovating the building, which had been vacant since 2020 when TGI Friday’s closed its State College location after 15 years in business.
Founded in 2003, Marzoni’s other restaurants are located in Altoona, Duncansville, Mechanicsburg and Selinsgrove.
Hours were not yet listed for the State College restaurant, but Marzoni’s other restaurants are typically open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. or 10 p.m.
