Nominations are now open for the Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County’s 2025 Centre County Business Awards, and community members are invited to participate.

The awards annually recognize individuals, businesses and nonprofit organizations that have made an impact on the community in the past year through a dedication to innovation and economic development, adept leadership and exemplary customer service, according to CBICC.

Awards are given in six categories. Except where noted, nominees must be CBICC members:

  • ATHENA Champion Leadership Award recognizes individuals who serve as allies, advocates and catalysts in promoting women’s leadership. This award is internationally recognized by ATHENA International, which provides development initiatives and honors for women leaders worldwide.
  • Nonprofit of the Year recognizes a nonprofit organization that has made a significant impact on the community through its programs, services and dedication to its mission.
  • Small Business of the Year recognizes a business with 10 or fewer full-time employees that has demonstrated exceptional customer loyalty, a dedicated and engaged team and visionary leadership committed to sustainable growth and future success.
  • Emerging Business of the Year recognizes a business that was established or opened within the past three years and has achieved significant early success, demonstrated strong growth potential and positioned itself as a promising leader and innovator in its industry. Nominees are not required to be CBICC members.
  • Business Leader of the Year recognizes an individual who has expertly guided their organization to success, enhancing its reputation through operational excellence, innovative programs and a strong commitment to employee and community engagement.
  • Business of the Year recognizes an outstanding business that aligns with CBICC’s mission to promote community well-being and economic development in Centre County. The business must have a proven track record of significant positive impact on Centre County within the past year.

“The Centre County Business Awards are a celebration of the people and organizations that drive our region forward,” Greg Scott, CBICC President and CEO, said in a statement. “We encourage the community to nominate those whose leadership, dedication and entrepreneurial spirit make this a great place to live and work.”

Nominations can be made until Sept. 5 at cbicc.org/awards. Criteria for consideration in each award category is included in the nomination form.

Winners will be honored at CBICC’s annual awards reception on Oct. 23 at The Nittany Lion Inn. Public registration for this event will open in August.
