Nominations are now open for the Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County’s 2026 Centre County Business Awards, and community members are invited to participate.

The awards annually recognize individuals, businesses and nonprofit organizations whose work strengthens the local economy and enhances the quality of life across the region.

“The Centre County Business Awards is a cornerstone event recognizing outstanding achievement through a peer-led nomination and selection process,” CBICC wrote in a news release. “We encourage the community to consider who has demonstrated leadership and made an impact. Your nomination is how Centre County spotlights excellence and inspires what’s possible.”

Awards are given in six categories. Except where noted, nominees must be CBICC members.

• Nonprofit of the Year recognizes a nonprofit organization that has made a significant impact on the community through its programs, services and dedication to its mission.

• ATHENA Champion Leadership Award recognizes individuals who serve as allies, advocates and catalysts in promoting women’s leadership. This award is internationally recognized by ATHENA International, which provides development initiatives and honors for women leaders worldwide.

Emerging Business of the Year recognizes a business that was established or opened within the past three years and has achieved significant early success, demonstrated strong growth potential and positioned itself as a promising leader and innovator in its industry. Nominees are not required to be CBICC members.

Small Business of the Year recognizes a business with 10 or fewer full-time employees that has demonstrated exceptional customer loyalty, a dedicated and engaged team and visionary leadership committed to sustainable growth and future success.

Business Leader of the Year recognizes an individual who has expertly guided their organization to success, enhancing its reputation through operational excellence, innovative programs and a strong commitment to employee and community engagement.

Business of the Year recognizes an outstanding business that aligns with CBICC’s mission to promote community well-being and economic development in Centre County while striving to maintain a high quality of life. The business must have had a significant positive impact on Centre County within the past year.

Nominations can be made until 5 p.m. on Aug. 21 at cbicc.org/awards. Criteria for consideration in each award category is included in the nomination form.

Winners will be honored at CBICC’s annual awards reception on Oct. 21 at The Nittany Lion Inn. Registration for the event is available at cbicc.org/awards.
