Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts Unveils 2022 Collectible Poster

Getting ready to return as an in-person event for the first time since 2019, the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts on Tuesday continued a decades-long tradition with the release of its annual free collectible poster.

The 24-inch by 36-inch poster “is a stylized bouquet of flowers made of elements representing art and music in with Penn State’s Old Main and other visual references to Central Pennsylvania in the background,” festival organizers wrote in a news release.

Saige Sommese, a 2018 graduate of Penn State’s graphic design program, designed this year’s poster in collaboration with her father, Lanny Sommese, a Penn State professor emeritus of graphic design who has created the festival posters for more than 40 years. The daughter-father team has collaborated on the designs for the past four years.

 The poster can be picked up at no charge at the following locations:

Celebrating its 56th year, Arts Fest in downtown State College and on Penn State’s University Park campus kicks off on July 13 with Children and Youth Day followed by the Sidewalk Sale and Exhibition July 14-17.
