A series of monthly block parties hosted by 3 Dots Downtown returns for its second year this week in State College.
The first Pugh Street Shutdown of the season — themed “Secret Planet” — will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday on the 100 block of South Pugh Street, with entertainment, food, beverages and vendors. The road will be closed to vehicle traffic from East Beaver Avenue to the parking garage entrance during the event.
Pittsburgh psychedelic folk band Ames Harding & The Mirage is the headline performer, with DJ Elbow Knee Knee also providing music.
Food for purchase will include Brazilian Munchies, Carter’s Table and Classic Cones, while a beer garden will feature Antifragile Brewing and draft kombucha and mocktails from Sobar.
The vendor lineup is scheduled to include Amaris Starseed, Bored Housecat Studio, Clare Connell, HM Art + Design, Off the Record Arts and Jon Vickers-Jones, Meghan McCracken, Rusted Few Trading Co. and Second Season Mittens.
AIDS Resource is the nonprofit partner for this month’s event.
An extension of 3 Dots’ Tuesdays on the Terrace series, Pugh Street Shutdowns will be held on the last Tuesday of each month through October with a different theme for each event.
