Bellefonte Under the Lights: Winter Market has been pushed back a day because of anticipated high winds on Saturday, according to Downtown Bellefonte Inc.

The market will now be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday in Talleyrand Park.

It was originally scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory today for much of central Pennsylvania, with winds of 15 to 25 miles per hour and gusts of 45 to 55 mph expected. The strongest winds are expected between 6 and 11 p.m.

Rain is also in the forecast for the afternoon and early evening.

“This is the result of concerning weather for Saturday evening, that is expected to bring high winds and rain,” Downtown Bellefonte Inc. wrote on Facebook about the postponement. “Since all of our vendors will be in pop-up tents, their safety and the safety of our visitors is our first priority.”

The market is scheduled to have 70 skilled makers and artisan vendors, as well as food and craft beverage vendors, live music and family activities.

Because of the postponement, there will be some changes to the vendor lineup. Check Downtown Bellefonte Inc.’s Facebook page for updates.

Bellefonte Victorian Christmas — which is organized separately by Historic Bellefonte Inc. — is continuing as planned on Saturday.
