Boalsburg’s weekend of Memorial Day events continued on Saturday with an annual highlight: the Boalsburg Fire Company Parade.
Crowds lined the streets of the village as fire company and other emergency vehicle units from around the county were joined by community groups, performers and period reenactors for the parade, which was followed by the third night of the fire company’s carnival.
It was one of numerous events that started Thursday and last through Monday to celebrate, remember the fallen and commemorate Boalsburg’s tradition as the birthplace of Memorial Day.
Events continue on Sunday and Monday in the village, on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Military Museum and at the Columbus Chapel and Boal Mansion. See the schedule here.
