Women United of Centre County United Way is accepting grant applications from 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in Centre County that provide programs focused on improving the lives of women and children in the area.

Applications for the current funding cycle must be received electronically as email attachments no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, May 3. Contact Ja Nae Wian at 814-238-8283 or janae@ccunitedway.org for more information and a grant application.

Women United, formerly known as the Women’s Leadership Group, has established a grant program for local agencies that provide long-term impact, significant outcomes and a collaborative approach to program services. Funding may be used to purchase equipment, expand programming or as seed money for a new program or venture.

Members of Women United are women who donate to the Centre County United Way general campaign at the leadership level and who have agreed to make an additional contribution to fund the Women United grant program.

In 2023, grant awards supported Centre Volunteers in Medicine’s breast health program and The Makery’s work to establish a children’s space at the Centre County Courthouse.
