A big September weekend at Penn State will kick off with a performance by comedian Bill Burr at the Bryce Jordan Center, the venue announced on Monday.
Burr will take the stage for an 8 p.m. show on Friday, Sept. 10, the night before Penn State football’s home opener across the street at Beaver Stadium.
Tickets are $39-$79 go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday through Ticketmaster. A Penn State student presale for $20 tickets will take place on Thursday.
In addition to his success as a stand-up comedian, Burr is also known for his acting roles and as a podcaster.
He has starred in the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian,” and the 2020 film “The King of Staten Island,” had notable recurring appearances on “Breaking Bad,” and created and starred in the Netflix animated series “F Is for Family.”
His most recent stand-up special, “Paper Tiger,” debuted on Netflix in 2019 and received a Grammy nomination for a Best Comedy Album.
Burr also co-founded the All Things Comedy digital media network and cohosts the twice weekly “Monday Morning Podcast.”
After having no performances since February 2020 because of COVID-19, the BJC has announced six ticketed events so far for 2021-22. Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live will stop at the venue Oct. 16-17; country artist Kane Brown will perform on Nov. 6; Cirque Dreams Holidaze will bring a Broadway-style musical and contemporary circus arts on Dec. 16; singer-songwriter Billie Eilish will perform on Feb. 10, 2022; and The Killers will visit on Oct. 4, 2022, for a show rescheduled from last year.
