A Centre County United Way fundraiser offering the opportunity to rappel 110 feet down the south side of Beaver Stadium will return this fall.

Over the Edge at Beaver Stadium will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 8, CCUW wrote in a press release, marking the second consecutive year the event will be held at the home of Penn State football.

Anyone who reaches the $1,500 fundraising minimum can take part, and all proceeds will benefit CCUW. Participants can register on the Over the Edge online platform for the event, where they can garner support from family and friends to reach the fundraising goal.

The first Over the Edge at Beaver Stadium was held in May 2023 and saw 45 participants.

As with last year, funds raised from October’s Over the Edge will support the Penn State United Way Campaign, which each year contributes about 40% of the CCUW’s annual campaign total.

Each year, one in three Centre County residents — more than 50,000 — access the education, financial stability and physical and emotional health resources and services funded by CCUW, which supports 25 partner agencies.
