Centre County reported 10 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday to increase its total to 16,981, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. It was the county’s largest single-day increase since May 25.
Pennsylvania added 525 positives, bringing the statewide total to 1,217,857.
The county also reported 60 negative test results, bringing its total to 72,181. Statewide, there were 4,593 new negatives for a total of 4,857,368.
According to the DOH hospital preparedness dashboard, four COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Centre County, unchanged from Tuesday. None are in intensive care or on ventilators.
Pennsylvania has 302 COVID-19 inpatients, an increase of 22 since Tuesday, with 63 in intensive care [+9] and 31 on ventilators [-5].
DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, keeping the total at 228.
With eight new COVID-19 deaths statewide, Pennsylvania’s total is now 27,813.
An estimated 97% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, according to a health department calculation.
As of Wednesday morning, 77,027 people in Centre County are fully vaccinated and 5,280 are partially covered.
Vaccination appointments for ages 12 and older are available through Centre Volunteers in Medicine, Mount Nittany Health and through other pharmacies and providers listed at vaccines.gov.
