Centre County reported 20 new COVID-19 cases on Monday to bring its total to 19,189. Among total cases 17,386 are confirmed and 1,803 are probable.
Pennsylvania added 3,010 positives to increase the statewide total to 1,415,049.
The county also had 55 new negative test results for a total of 79,129. Statewide there were 8,934 negatives to bring the total to 5,424,046.
Deaths
DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, keeping the total at 235.
With 10 new COVID-19 deaths statewide, Pennsylvania’s total is 29,151.
Hospitalizations
According to Mount Nittany Medical Center’s COVID-19 dashboard, which is updated on weekdays, the hospital has 35 COVID-19 inpatients, three more than DOH reported on Sunday. Five are in intensive care and five are on ventilators. The inpatients range in age from 19 to 89. Seven are fully vaccinated and 28 are not vaccinated.
Statewide, Pennsylvania has 2,713 COVID-19 inpatients, an increase of 22 since Sunday, with 648 in intensive care [-12] and 341 on ventilators [-10]. Hospitalizations are at their highest level since April 22.
An estimated 90% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, according to a DOH calculation that considers a case as recovered if it has not been reported as a death and it is more than 30 days past the date of the first positive test or onset of symptoms.
Transmission level
All 67 counties in Pennsylvania are at the highest level for community transmission of COVID-19 on the Centers for Disease Control scale, according to the latest county-level data update on Sunday afternoon.
Transmission levels are based on positivity rate and cases per 100,000 people for the previous seven days. At the substantial and high levels, CDC guidance recommends all people, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks in public indoor settings.
Vaccinations
As of Monday morning, 82,930 people in Centre County are fully vaccinated [+34 since Sunday] and 6,315 are partially covered [-4]. Booster doses have been administered to 1,429 county residents [+56].
According to the Centers for Disease Control, 61.7% of the county’s entire population and 68.7% of adult residents have received at least one dose. Among the total county population, 53.2% are fully vaccinated.
Statewide, 68.5% of adults are fully vaccinated and Pennsylvania is fifth in the nation for total doses administered, according the CDC.
Vaccination appointments for ages 12 and older are available through Centre Volunteers in Medicine, Mount Nittany Health and through other pharmacies and providers listed at vaccines.gov.
