Centre County Adds 43 COVID-19 Cases; Pennsylvania Reports 3,333

Centre County reported 43 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday to bring its total to 16,182, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Pennsylvania added 3,333 positives for a statewide total of 1,139,390.

The county also had 123 additional negative test results to increase its total to 67,618. Across Pennsylvania, there were 9,014 new negatives for a total of 4,364,133.

Mount Nittany Medical Center is treating 27 COVID-19 inpatients, eight fewer than on Monday. The patients range in age from 34 to 93, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Statewide, Pennsylvania has 2,448 COVID-19 inpatients, a decrease of 47 since Monday, with 516 patients in intensive care [-1] and 249 on ventilators [+1].

DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, keeping the county’s total at 219.

With 84 new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide, Pennsylvania’s total is 26,072.

Centre County nursing and personal care homes added one new case among residents. According to DOH, 18 long-term care facilities in the county have had a combined 728 resident cases, 158 employee cases and 164 resident deaths.

An estimated 88% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, per a health department calculation.

As of Tuesday morning, 47,947 people in Centre County are fully vaccinated and 21,801 are partially covered.

Among Pennsylvania’s cases, 960,405 are confirmed and 178,985 are probable. In Centre County, 14,760 are confirmed and 1,422 are probable.
