Centre County Adds 46 COVID-19 Cases, 1 Death; Pennsylvania Reports 906 New Positives

Centre County reported 46 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday to bring its total to 16,824, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. It marks the county’s highest single-day increase in three weeks.

Pennsylvania reported fewer than 1,000 new positives for the third consecutive day. With 906 new cases the statewide total is now 1,197,468.

DOH reported one new death attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, bringing the county’s total to 223.

With 42 new COVID-19 deaths reported statewide Pennsylvania’s total is now 27,085.

Mount Nittany Medical Center is treating 15 COVID-19 inpatients ranging in age from 33 to 94, unchanged from Monday.

Statewide, Pennsylvania has 1,186 COVID-19 inpatients, a decrease of 44 since Monday, with 301 in intensive care [+6] and 180 on ventilators [+2].

An estimated 93% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, per a health department calculation.

As of Tuesday morning, 66,908 people in Centre County are fully vaccinated and 13,795 are partially covered.

Vaccination appointments for ages 12 and older are available through Centre Volunteers in Medicine, Mount Nittany Health and through other pharmacies and providers listed at vaccines.gov. The state-run Regional Vaccination Clinic at the Bryce Jordan Center offers vaccines to individuals 18 and older by appointment or walk-in.
