Centre County reported 48 new COVID-19 cases and one new death attributed to the virus on Wednesday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The county’s COVID-19 case total is now 16,230, with 220 deaths.
Pennsylvania added 3,686 positives for a statewide total of 1,143,076. With 57 new COVID-19 deaths reported on Wednesday, the commonwealth’s total is now 26,129.
The county also had 67 additional negative test results to increase its total to 67,685. Across Pennsylvania, there were 8,955 new negatives for a total of 4,373,088.
Mount Nittany Medical Center is treating 25 COVID-19 inpatients, two fewer than on Tuesday. The patients range in age from 37 to 93, according to a hospital spokesperson.
Statewide, Pennsylvania has 2,447 COVID-19 inpatients, a decrease of one since Tuesday, with 539 patients in intensive care [+23] and 278 on ventilators [+29].
An estimated 88% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, per a health department calculation.
As of Wednesday morning, 48,336 people in Centre County are fully vaccinated and 21,671 are partially covered.
