Centre County reported 65 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday to bring its total to 19,169. Among total cases 17,371 are confirmed and 1,798 are probable
Pennsylvania added 4,247 positives to increase the statewide total to 1,412,039.
The county also had 194 new negative test results for a total of 79,074. Statewide there were 11808 negatives to bring the total to 5,415,112.
Deaths
DOH reported no new deaths attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, keeping the total at 235.
With 13 new COVID-19 deaths statewide, Pennsylvania’s total is 29,141.
Hospitalizations
According to the DOH hospital preparedness dashboard, 32 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Centre County, four fewer than Mount Nittany Medical Center’s last update on Friday. Five are in intensive care [+1] and five are on ventilators [+2]
Statewide, Pennsylvania has 2,691 COVID-19 inpatients, an increase of 14 since Saturday, with 660 in intensive care [-2] and 351 on ventilators. Hospitalizations are at their highest level since April 23.
Transmission level
All 67 counties in Pennsylvania are at the highest level for community transmission of COVID-19 on the Centers for Disease Control scale, according to the latest county-level data update on Sunday afternoon.
Transmission levels are based on positivity rate and cases per 100,000 people for the previous seven days. At the substantial and high levels, CDC guidance recommends all people, regardless of vaccination status, wear masks in public indoor settings.
Vaccinations
As of Sunday morning, 82,896 people in Centre County are fully vaccinated [+66 since Saturday] and 6,319 are partially covered [-14]. Booster doses have been administered to 1,373 county residents [+89].
According to the Centers for Disease Control, 61.7% of the county’s entire population and 68.7% of adult residents have received at least one dose. Among the total county population, 53.2% are fully vaccinated.
Statewide, 68.2% of adults are vaccinated and Pennsylvania is fifth in the nation for total doses administered, according the CDC.
Vaccination appointments for ages 12 and older are available through Centre Volunteers in Medicine, Mount Nittany Health and through other pharmacies and providers listed at vaccines.gov.
