Centre County reported 81 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday to bring its total to 12,195, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Pennsylvania added 4,088 cases, bringing the statewide total to 892,344.
The county also had 349 additional negative test results, increasing its total to 58,838. Across Pennsylvania there were 13,578 new negatives for a total of 3,757,904.
DOH reported one new death attributed to the virus among Centre County residents, bringing the county’s total at 204.
With 113 new COVID-19 deaths reported on Saturday, Pennsylvania’s total is now 23,072.
According to the health department’s hospital preparedness dashboard, which includes Mount Nittany Medical Center and rehabilitation hospitals, 24 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized in Centre County, with none in intensive care or on ventilators.
Statewide, 2,452 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, including 489 in intensive care and 271 on ventilators.
Nursing and personal care homes in Centre County reported two COVID-19 case among residents. A total of 16 long-term care facilities in the county have had a combined 678 resident cases, 146 employee cases and 156 resident deaths.
Centre County’s PCR testing positivity rate for Feb. 5 through Feb. 11 was 9.2%, down from 13.3% the previous seven days, according to the updated DOH early warning monitoring dashboard. The rate is 26th highest in the state, down from eighth highest the prior week. Pennsylvania’s statewide PCR testing positivity rate was 8.0%, down from 8.6% the previous week.
An estimated 87% of COVID-19 patients in the state have recovered, per a health department calculation.
A total of 18,851 people in Centre County have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, including 3,554 who are fully covered with both required doses, according to health department data.
Among Pennsylvania’s total cases, 771,452 are confirmed and 120,892 are probable. In Centre County, 11,295 are confirmed and 900 are probable.
