CVIM and Penn State to Offer COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Before Nittany Lion Football Game vs. Villanova

Centre Volunteers in Medicine and Penn State are partnering to host a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for fans prior to kickoff of Saturday’s Nittany Lion football game against Villanova.

The free clinic will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. inside Gate A of the Bryce Jordan Center. Anyone 12 or older can receive a first or second dose of vaccine, but no booster shots will be offered, according to a news release.

Only those attending the game or tailgating (or who can walk to the area) will be able to access the clinic as no on-site parking or drop-off area will be available because of game day parking and travel restrictions.

Individuals getting a vaccine must wear a mask inside the BJC, bring photo identification and, if receiving a second dose, also bring their vaccine card. All three vaccines authorized in the United States will be available.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Penn State to offer a convenient vaccine clinic for Penn State football fans,” Cheryl White, executive director of CVIM, said in a statement. “We will have vaccines by Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer, so fans can get a first dose, a second dose or the single dose of Johnson & Johnson. Students, employees, fans and community members are all welcome.”

Those getting a vaccine will need to complete a consent form and wait inside the BJC for 15 minutes after receiving the shot.

The clinic, which is drop-in only with no appointments, will end in time for fans to enter Beaver Stadium for the game, which kicks off at noon.

Volunteers from CVIM and Penn State’s colleges of nursing and medicine will administer the vaccines.
