SCASD to Host Special Education Paraprofessional Job Fair

The State College Area School District is inviting community members to explore career opportunities at its Special Education Paraprofessional Job Fair from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Panorama Village Administrative Center, 240 Villa Crest Drive.

With more than 20 openings across the district, SCASD is seeking caring, dedicated individuals who are passionate about supporting students with special needs. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with administrators and members of the district’s special education team, ask questions and learn more about available positions at the elementary and secondary levels.

Participants can apply, interview and potentially be recommended for a position on the spot, so applicants are encouraged to bring a cover letter, resume and references. The first 20 attendees will receive free “swag bags,” and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

To qualify, applicants must have a high school diploma or GED; all required training will be provided by the district after hiring.

Compensation and benefits include:

  • Minimum starting pay of $17.43 per hour, with increases based on experience
  • Summers off and family-friendly work hours
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance
  • Enrollment in the Public School Employees’ Retirement System
  • Tuition reimbursement and annual salary increases

The district employs more than 100 special education paraprofessionals.
