The most crowded field of primary candidates in recent memory for State College Area School Board looks as if it will remain mostly intact for November’s election.
Ten of 11 candidates appear to have won party nominations on Tuesday for five school board seats up for election. All candidates were cross-filed on the Democratic and Republican ballots.
Slate for State candidates Amy Bader (incumbent), Gretchen Brandt (incumbent), Anne Demo, Dan Kolbe and Aaron Miller led for the five Democratic nominations. Megan Layng and United for SCASD candidates Nathan Bish, Barry Fenchak, John Krajcovic and Michelle Young led for the Republican nods.
Incumbent Laurel Zydney was left on the outside looking in.
Unofficial results are as of 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday with all precincts partially reported.
