Burning Ma’aM is getting bigger for its fourth year.
The DIY campout music festival hosted by State College-based cowpunk rockers Ma’aM will be held Friday, May 24, and Saturday, May 25, at Winkelblech Fields, 1104 Pine Creek Road in Woodward. It will mark the first time the festival has featured two full days and nights of music and camping.
With mostly word-of-mouth and grassroots promotion, hundreds have attended each of the past years’ single-day festivals, according to Ma’aM guitarist-vocalist Tiger Cabus.
“We’re hoping to reach new audiences and keep growing,” Cabus said.
Burning Ma’am will feature 18 acts from throughout the Mid-Atlantic across the two days, along with food and craft vendors. Coming off last fall’s release of their debut full-length, “Rules 2 Ramblin’,” produced by Marah’s Dave Bielanko at his 145 Studios in Millheim, Ma’aM will headline night two of the festival.
