CENTRE HALL — There is plenty of entertainment on tap at this year’s Grange Fair. Here’s a closer look at some of the acts that will be gracing the grandstand stage over the next week:
The Oak Ridge Boys
Friday, Aug. 18, at 8 p.m.
The Oak Ridge Boys are a country and gospel quartet from Tennessee. Founded in 1943, the award-winning group has produced decades worth of hits and 50 years of tradition. The Oak Ridge Boys’ four-part harmonies have created chart toppers such as “Elvira,” “Bobbie Sue,” “American Made” and more.
Alex Miller & HunterGirl
Saturday, Aug. 19, at 8 p.m.
Alex Miller is a rising country singer who made his debut on American Idol as a teenager in 2021. The 6-foot-6 performer has opened for top-tier acts such as Brooks and Dunn, Diamond Rio and Sawyer Brown.
HunterGirl was the runner-up on American Idol in 2022, where country star Luke Bryan called her a “new-age Miranda Lambert.” The Tennessee native has won multiple songwriting competitions and performed at some of Nashville’s most famous venues.
Drake Milligan
Monday, Aug. 21, at 8 p.m.
Drake Milligan moved from Texas to Tennessee during his senior year of high school to portray Elvis Presley on the television series “Sun Records.” He later appeared on “America’s Got Talent” in 2022, finishing in third place. The Fort Worth native released his first album in September, with hits topping the country charts with songs like Sounds Like “Something I’d Do” and “Over Drinkin’ Under Thinkin’.”
North Point Worship
Tuesday, Aug. 22, at 8 p.m.
North Point Worship is a collective of song writers, artists and worship leaders out of Atlanta. Internationally known, the group connects with more than 90 churches inspiring people to follow Jesus. North Point Worship has been making contemporary gospel music for more than 10 years, with anthems such as “Death Was Arrested,” “Abundantly More” and “Anchor of Peace.”
Little Texas
Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 8 p.m.
Little Texas broke into the country music scene in the early ’90s with songs performed, written and recorded exclusively by the band members. Now with eight albums and countless shows, the vocal group is celebrating 30 years since their debut on the country music charts. Some of their hits include “God Blessed Texas,” “Kick a Little” and “First Time for Everything.”
American Pride — A Tribute to the Statler Brothers
Thursday, Aug. 24, at 8 p.m.
American Pride brings history to the stage with the musical moments of The Statler Brothers. The original southern gospel quartet sang with Johnny Cash in addition to their own hit records. American Pride promotes traditional country music while keeping the legacy ofthe Statler Brothers alive. Their versions of songs such as “I’ll Fly Away” and “Heaven’s Jubilee” capture the authentic sound of the original group.
Chase McDaniel
Friday, Aug. 25, at 8 p.m.
Raised by his grandparents in Kentucky, Chase McDaniel chased his music dreams to Nashville to become a singer-songwriter. During the pandemic, McDaniel was jobless with $12 left and almost packed up to head home. After a second chance, he’s made music that fans can connect with while beginning to climb the country music charts. His latest song debuted #1 on the country single charts and No. 4 on the all-genres’ charts. His songs “Relapse” and “Project” both had millions of streams the first week they released.
Adam Calvert
Saturday, Aug. 26, at 8 p.m.
Growing up in a small town in Ohio, Adam Calvert started his music career at the age of 12 when his family moved to Tennessee. He was later featured on MTV’s musical competition show “Taking the Stage,” which won a Teen Choice Award. Calvert is now an avid singer-songwriter, performing at over 200 shows in 26 different states over the last year and is set to surpass 30 states this year.
Grandstand concerts are included in the price of admission to the fair.
