Country music singer-songwriter Parker McCollum will return to Penn State in the fall after having to end his recent concert at the Bryce Jordan Center early because of illness.

McCollum will perform on Oct. 2 at the Jordan Center and all tickets purchased for the shortened Jan. 25 performance will be honored on the new date, he said in a video update on Wednesday night.

“Ticketmaster will be contacting ticket buyers directly with additional details, including information on a refund window for those unable to attend the rescheduled date,” according to the Jordan Center.

For those who didn’t already have them for the January show, tickets for the new date are on sale through Ticketmaster.

The October performance will feature all new production, support acts and songs, “as a special thank you to fans for their patience and understanding,” according to the Jordan Center. All ticket holders will receive a limited edition show poster created exclusively for the State College concert.

McCollum performed several songs on Saturday before ultimately having to pull the plug on the show. He said in a social media post on Tuesday that he began feeling unwell shortly before the concert but gave it a go. After ending the performance with apologies to the crowd and a promise to refund tickets, he became “as violently sick as I’ve ever been in my entire life,” he said.

“That was absolutely the worst thing ever to have to end a show like that, especially so early in the night,” McCollum said.
