Another country music star is set to perform at the Bryce Jordan Center next year.
Walker Hayes will bring his 2023 “Duck Buck” tour to Penn State’s arena on Thursday, April 27, the venue announced on Monday. The concert will mark the Grammy-nominated artist’s first visit to Happy Valley.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. ahead of the 6:30 p.m. concert. Special guests Ingrid Andress and Ray Fulcher will open for Hayes.
General public tickets are on sale starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 16, while discounted student ticket sales begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15. Tickets start at $35, according to the Bryce Jordan Center’s event page, and Penn State students are eligible for up to $20 off select tickets.
“I can’t wait to get back out on tour,” Hayes said in a statement. “Headlining an arena tour for the first time this past year was a dream come true. The whole family was able to come out and the road has become our new home away from home. All the fans that have come out or will come out are making this dream a reality. I owe it all to them, and this next tour will be the biggest and best.”
Hayes’ stop at the Bryce Jordan Center comes near the beginning of his upcoming tour with more than 20 stops across the country. The Happy Valley performance marks the tour’s only stop in Pennsylvania in 2023.
The tour follows the release of Hayes’ latest album, “Country Stuff the Album,” which was released last January. The Alabama native has released three studio albums to date and is arguably best known for his smash-hit single, “Fancy Like,” which has been featured in Applebee’s commercials since August 2021.
Following Monday’s tour announcement, Hayes joins a packed slate of upcoming Bryce Jordan Center concerts, including 2023 shows by Carrie Underwood, Bruce Springsteen, Journey, Thomas Rhett, Kenny Chesney and Casting Crowns.
