PLEASANT GAP — Paul Koberna, MD, FCCP, has been named as the associate medical director of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Nittany Valley, an inpatient rehabilitation hospital designed to return patients to leading active and independent lives, according to a press release.
Prior to being named as associate medical director of the inpatient physical rehabilitation hospital, Koberna began his service as an independent physician at Encompass Health Nittany Valley, formerly HealthSouth, in 2001. After graduating from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1990, he completed his residency and fellowship at The University of Virginia. Dr. Koberna is board certified in internal medicine and critical care medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Nittany Valley is a 73-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital that offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services. Serving patients throughout the Centre region and five surrounding counties, the hospital is located at 550 W. College Ave. in Pleasant Gap.
