My wife, my three sons and I are huge Penn State football and Joe Paterno fans, but it wasn’t always that way. As an incoming freshman at Penn State in 1966, Coach Paterno’s first year as head coach, I was very interested in sports, but not generally interested in college football and certainly not interested in or knowledgeable about Penn State football.
